Faulkner Lake

Business Challenge:

Faulkner Lake is formed by the Faulkner Lake Dam fed off-stream by the Arkansas River in Pulaski County, Arkansas.  Faulkner Lake is located in an extremely sensitive ecological area and is used for recreational as well as drinking water purposes.  With dozens of activities available for tourists and residents in and around the lake, agency proposed development of a warehouse on the site was to impact 10 acres of wetland and presented a unique environmental challenge for the developers.

EGIS’s Response to its Client’s Needs:

Wanting to construct an environmentally balanced development, EGIS was brought into the project by the landowners who had valid concerns about the environmental effects brought about by potential development and the effects on the surrounding areas.

EGIS worked with the agency to find a balanced solution for development, finding alternatives for mitigation and also obtained the permits for development. EGIS designed, modified and constructed 13 acres of wetlands and planted more than 10,000 trees.

EGIS completed the project on time and provided the client with a significant amount of cost savings not seen by the original company that was originally contracted. EGIS reduced the amount of earth moving that was originally proposed and provided 2 years of monitoring services after development was completed.
